Poirot's efficient secretary who has appeared in several Poirot stories. In the books, she is old and rather ugly; she was made younger and more glamorous in the TV series.
I don't know what it was with Christie, she didn't seem to like even her own characters. Fortunately, the writers for the series had better sense. Pauline Moran made the perfect Miss Lemon. She wasn't some skanky thing, but she wasn't ancient, either. She went from having an 'office crush' on Poirot to genuinely caring for him.
For me, I don't even read Christie. I prefer the series and the movies. As far a s the man himself, David Suchet is THE Poirot.
